Dr. Networking recently talked with residential customers Fred Jenkins and Susan Haines. We think you will enjoy their story!

Dr. Networking: Fred, Susan, we are thrilled to be featuring our first residential customers for our Customer Corner, and I know our readers will enjoy your story!

Fred and Susan: We are happy to talk with you. We appreciate Dr. Networking’s services.

DN: Where do you live?

F&S: We live in Trail, Oregon. We retired here after thirty-plus years living and working in Alaska. Fred’s professional life was in the non-profit sector, and Susan was a high school counselor.

DN: I can imagine that, coming from Alaska, Oregon must feel comfortable and familiar in terms of its natural beauty. When did you arrive in Oregon?

F&S: We moved here in 2009 to assist Susan’s elderly parents, who lived in Medford. We fulfilled a life-long dream of building our Earth Advantage home during the following two years.

DN: How have you connected with your community here in Oregon?

F&S: Since completing work on the house, we have both become involved in service to the community. Susan volunteers as a Court Appointed Special Advocate (CASA), and Fred volunteers with Victim Services through the District Attorney’s office. He also volunteers with the Rogue Art Gallery and Maslow Project.

DN: Wow, that is truly life-changing stuff. Thank you for those services you so generously donate. You sound awfully busy! Do you have any free time in your retirement?

F&S: In our leisure time, Fred creates art in his home studio. Susan tends a large organic garden and has created a certified Monarch butterfly way station. Susan also plays piano and fiddle, and both of us are avid readers.

DN: I know that when people live in the country, connecting through technology and having technical support is quite important. What devices do you have?

F&S: Between us, we own two iPhones, two iPads, a desktop Mac, and a MacBook Air. All of our devices are for personal use, since we are retired. We also have both a home network and a guest network.

DN: How long have you been using Dr. Networking’s services?

F&S: We have been customers for about a year and a half. Because we live rurally, receiving computer technical services has been a challenge. Since we started working with Dr. Networking, we are often able to obtain support from a distance by allowing technical support access to our desktops. This saves us the additional charges of a technician driving to our home.

DN: It is wonderful to have that option is available, isn’t it? Can you give me an idea of what a typical service call is for?

F&S: As regular customers, we have often had brief, simple questions regarding one of our devices, or challenges syncing across our devices. We have been able to call and get advice right over the phone. The Dr. Networking staff has demonstrated knowledge, skill, and efficiency in resolving our issues and challenges with hardware, software, and networking. They are well equipped with tools and technology to address these issues. They have also helped us set up and integrate several new devices into our network.

DN: Why would you recommend Dr. Networking?

F&S: The staff’s goal is to enhance our experience with our devices and to make that experience as simple as possible. We heartily recommend Dr. Networking to any individual or business that needs consultation or assistance with their devices, software, and networks.

DN: Fred, Susan, we really appreciate your taking the time to chat with us and let our readers know that residential customers are every bit as important to us as our business clients. We hope to be providing great quality service to you for years to come.

F&S: Thank you. We look forward to it, too.
