Dr. Networking recently met with Leslie Adams, a long-time and highly valued employee with Innersource.
Dr. Networking: Thanks for meeting with me today. I understand you’re the main contact person from Innersource who works directly with Dr. Networking. How long have you been with Innersource?
Leslie: I’ve been with them for sixteen years.
DN: You must love it!
Leslie: I do! I love my bosses.
DN: So, tell me about Innersource.
Leslie: Innersource is an educational company. Donna Eden and David Feinstein own the company, and they teach Energy Medicine and Energy Psychology. We have classes all over the world, and offer educational materials to support the classes. We have a certification program in the States, and we’re starting one in the UK, so we have practitioners all over the world. Our whole mission is to get Energy Medicine out there for people to have the power to heal themselves.
DN: What is Energy Medicine?
Leslie: Energy Medicine is a way to align our energies to help our bodies be the strongest and healthiest they can be. Donna studied several modalities and then created her own from that. From birth she was able to see energy. She could actually see the changes happening as she worked on a body, as it released blockages and so forth.
The work is done through different modalities, utilizing techniques from traditions such as acupuncture, yoga, kinesiology, and qi gong. It utilizes acupressure points and works with meridians. Essentially, flow, balance, and harmony can be noninvasively restored and maintained using a variety of gentle tapping, massage, exercise, postures, and focused use of the mind, among other modalities.
DN: How long have you been working with Dr. Networking?
Leslie: We first started working with Clif in 2005. I worked from home, and our main computer was in our warehouse. We had to connect the bookkeeping program with my computer, so that was the beginning of our relationship with Dr. Networking. Back then, Clif helped us with that connection. Fast-forward and here we are sixteen years later. We’ve gone through two servers, and Robert now does most of our work. As I mentioned, people all over the world connect to our server to work with us, so it’s crucial to maintain our system.
DN: Have you ever had a major issue with your computers?
Leslie: Yes. When we first got our new server installed, it would shut down to automatically update. Since our clients live in several different time zones, many of them would be in the middle of work and the server would shut down. Robert was able to correct that for us, so that doesn’t happen anymore. He’s amazing. He’s helped us with all of our computers, from set-up and maintenance to security. If one of our clients can’t connect for some reason or something isn’t working right, Robert can work remotely to help us fix the problem. He is so flexible with us and works on all kinds of computer-related things. For example, we manufacture DVDs, and he’s helped us set up that equipment.
DN: So his work for you is broader than just “computer guy” stuff.
Leslie: Yes; you know, computers do weird things, and Robert is always so calm and patient when he’s trying to figure something out. So much of our business is online: registration, payments, client questions, all kinds of things. It’s just so important for our entire computer system to be operating well all the time.
DN: What kind of backup systems do you have?
Leslie: We back up off site using Mozy as well as using an onsite backup. That’s something Dr. Networking suggested, and I am so glad, because we feel really protected.
DN: If something goes wrong, what is your typical response time from Dr. Networking?
Stacey: They are very quick. I usually reach out to Robert, and he’ll shoot me back an email right away letting me know when he can call me within a certain amount of time, or if he’s out in the field somewhere, he’ll connect with me immediately afterward. I love knowing and working with the same person for so many years. Ifeel so confident in Robert’s ability to keep us functioning.
Everyone at Dr. Networking is very easy to work with, very accommodating. When Clif first came to me, I just said, “This is what we want to do,” and he could do it. Now, working with Robert, he calmly and patiently explains to me what is going on even if he’s told me the same thing two or three times before.
